Confessions of a slacker

Ok, Ok. I know. It's been forever since I've updated my blog. I fully intended to a long time ago, but obviously the best of intentions mean nothing. Well, Tony came homethe day after Christmas. THAT was a fun experience! His plane was supposed to arrive at 3 AM and then there was supposed to be a ceremony at 4 and they would release the soldiers to go home. So, me, my parents, and Donna showed up at the hangar sometime around 3ish, i think. Around 4 they told us the plane was landing, and that the ceremony would be at 5. (Apparently the pilot missed the landing strip the first time around, so he had to turn around and try again.) So, we spent an hour freezing our tails off, waiting for an hour to pass. Then, we find out that they had landed, but there was a mix up with the baggage, so they had to take care of all that, which would take about 45 minutes. So... 45 minutes later, they tell us it will be another fifteen. Then, we find out that someone is supposedly missing off the plane, so it will be a while until they find that person. More waiting. More freezing. I later found out that the soldier who was missing was never even with that group flying in. The family was there waiting for him, and we were all getting ticked off at him because we thought he'd run off or something and we couldn't see our soldiers until he was found. Poor guy, it wasn't even his fault. So, finally, about 7, everything gets straightened out, and the soldiers all marched in the hangar, the speaker spoke for abouta minute, they sang a couple of army songs, and then the soldiers were released to their families. Oh boy, did I cry my eyes out!
So, now we're pretty much settled into our little apartment. We've got most of our furniture and food in the fridge, and it's really feeling like a home. On top of all that, Tony happens to be a bit of a perfectionist, which means that the house stays clean and I don't really have to do much of it. I'm liking this arrangement. I love buying our own groceries and cooking what I like to eat. I LOVE white bread, real mayonaise, and corn tortillas! I have also discovered that Tony knows how to make omelettes (I never quite mastered that art) so I have elected him to be the official breakfast maker of our apartment. He doesn't know this yet, but that's ok. He'll learn.
So, we're still in the newlywed stage, if anyone s wondering. And, no, we haven't had our first fight. I'm hoping to not get around to it for a while. Ok, well that's all for now.
Curt and Kari and Lucas, we enjoyed having y'all over. We'll have to do it again sometime. Ted and Lisa and Mom and Dad and other miscellaneous family members haven't seen our new furniture and the apartment all clean like. I'd like to have every body come visit sometime.

I think being married over a year and not having a first fight has to be some kind of record! LOL

It's not that I want you to fight... it is just there are some good things about fighting... but you have to figure those out on your own! HA HA HA!

So where did you put your collections of "BOOKS" if you know what I mean? ;-)

I am glad everything is going good. Post some pictures of your stuff. I don't know when I can come visit because of the two desperados here.

That is awesome that you two are FINALLY able to have a life of your own and eat white bread, real mayonnaise and corn tortillas and fight if you need to, without anyone else being around. CONGRATS!
